Bonanza Presents:
'COUNTRIER THAN THOU'...
(Country Americana Blues)
@ The Lock Tavern
Thursday 30th December 2010

Bonanza's 'Countrier Than Thou' club night has been successfully presenting the best in Country, Blues and Americana for over three years at the Lock Tavern.

Bonanza has sourced excellence in traditional Country as well as the most forward thinking Avant-Country, Americana and Blues with zero irony just good old-fashioned quality music and very good times.

Bonanza also hosts a popular weekly radio show on ResonanceFM as well as numerous other club nights in the capital.

Live acts:

Lewis Floyd-Henry:
Arguably the best One Man Band in London coming on like Jimi Hendrix in a turbo-charged pram jamming with The Wu Tang Klan and bringing down the system in one foul swoop... I don't need to say anymore; just come and see him cos he'll blow your mind, your socks off and anything else you need blowing (metaphorically speaking of course).

+ JD Smith:
A welcome return for our favourite Rockabilly-Punk troubadour and his beguiling blend of twisted Country-Blues and Rock 'n' Roll.

J.D's debut album 'A Jukebox Riot', recorded by Darrel Higham was hailed by critics and fans alike as well as being picked up by Total Rock's radio show, Bizarre Magazine and also featured on a recent Andrew Weatherall podcast.

Tonight at The Lock Tavern with a big idea, a guitar and a heap of Punk-Rock attitude, J.D. will show us that a solo act can mean f*ck as well as Folk and can be dangerous again.&l t;/ font>

Upcoming:

Bonanza Presents:
'Kosmic Juke-Joint'... Christmas Party
Psychedelectronica from outer (and inner) Space!

@ The Lock Tavern

Tue 21st December 2010
(1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month)

Psychedelectronica from Outer (and inner) Space!

Imagine a Juke-Joint deep in space and you'll be not quite so close to the premise of Bonanza's night The Kosmic Juke-Joint...

So expect all manner of bands, Djs, artists, curators, dancers, writers, poets and performers tracing the roots and subsequent influence of the Blues into Psychedelia and the history of the droning, analogue synth, right through to glitchy, computer-based electronica and sampladelia... and a lot more from ten decades of astounding sounds!

If pre-war, down-home, Mississippi Blues next to great slabs of monolithic Krautrock or underground rock-tronica doesn't seem wrong to you plus the latest, cutting-edge acts live on stage then you'll love it...

'Psychedelectronica from inner and outer space'.

Live Acts:

Monkey Island:
A welcome return for Stoke Newington's favourite Progressive-Garage Rockers with a Punk-Rock ethos and a Blues education. Monkey Island will be showcasing their blistering new album at Kosmic Juke Joint's Christmas party.

This is dirty Garage-Punk for the 21st century not at all stuck in a retro rut. Excellent musicianship abounds with a diversity and juxtaposition rarely heard these days and influences as disparate as The Sonics, The Swell Maps, The Misunderstood and Black Sabbath...

... Still not getting it? Ok, well imagine Frank Zappa if he'd been a clued up Indie-kid perhaps or The Libertines cramming on Led Zeppelin instead of The Kinks.

+ Davey Moss:
Following Davey's awe inspiring performance at the launch of Bonanza's brand new night Day Of The Dead at Filthy MacNasty's Moss will invite you to take a trip inside his Psychedelicized Spaghetti-Western landscapes.

+ Resident Guest DJ:
Johnny P
(Psychedelic AfroBeat + other Universal treats)

+Bonanza DJ Set (ResonanceFM)
(Psychedelectronica killers & obscure dancefloor fillers plus anything else he bloody fancies!)
