Expect all manner of
acoustic acts • film screenings • spoken word • performance art • book and poetry readings • private views and one-night-only pop-up art exhibitions • dance • special guest djs • comedy • political satire • puppet shows • etc…

Live acoustic sets from:

Emit Bloch + Friends
We have no idea what Mr Emit Bloch is gonna come up with tonight as we had a brief telephone conversation with him today and he said 'The Gaslight made him think of 1920’s Psychedelia meets Surreal Victoriana!’... Sounds good to us,. He’ll be joined by ukelele player and sweet-voiced, vocalist Kater Garner and multi-instrumentsalist Oscar Lisshagen.

Glenn William Hodge
Cheeky, cockney, chappie Hodge is a modern day Anthony Newley or early David Jones, (That’s David Bowie to you). A speedy, cockney, wordsmith with urban tales not dissimilar to Lily Allen both lyrically and stylistically but with a welcome shot of Small Faces or Kinks. There’s a Pop-Folk sensibility present too especially with the addition of fiddle player Rich Nottigham to Glenn's soulful, acoustic guitar work.

Glenn sings about life, love, death and everything in between.

Other influences abound including Dylan Walshe, Ryan Adams, Frank Turner, The Felice Brothers, Noah and The Whale, Mumford & Son’s and even, at times, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, a veritable melting pot indeed.

Pop-Up Exhibition/Private view of Artwork from
Kate Garner
Renniassance Woman Kate Garner will show some of her recent work, she’s going to surprise us too so there’s not much I can tell you other than she’s a consummate photographer, singer, painter, ukelele player, model, wife and mum. Some of you may also remember her from quirky, 80’s pop group Haysi Fantayzee.

Bonanza & Son is now in its ninth year of presenting the best in Country, Blues, Americana and Roots Music as well as regularly djing quality music from Country to Krautrock on a weekly basis all over London. Countrier Than Thou has now successfully moved into it’s fifth year at the Lock Tavern.

Way back in the days when Country was still a dirty word round these parts and Americana was thought by some to be simply a typo’ error, not only having consistently sourced excellence in traditional Country, Bonanza & Son has also discovered the most forward thinking Avant-Country, Punk-Blues, Americana and Roots with zero irony just good old quality music and very good times.

Bonanza & Son also broadcast a popular weekly radio show on Resonance 104.4FM (Every Wednesday afternoon 4-5pm with repeats Sunday afternoons 1-2pm).

+ George Frakes:
George Frakes is an astonishing, young talent with his consummate fingerpicking and exquisite songwriting; he’ll be taking us on a spiritual journey upon a magic-carpet ride of Neo Psychedelic Country-Folk, nodding respectfully to the likes of Nick Drake, John Martyn, Bert Jansch and Hank Williams whilst emerging, mysteriously from the mists of North London dressed and draped impeccably, as he does in paisley, velvet, corduroy and fur with song-smithery to match
