Another version of Jeff Daniels’ (aka Luke McDaniel) fantastic and deeply moving song ‘You’re Still On My Mind’ by Jimmy C Newman.
The ‘C’ stands for Cajun and Newman was born in the heart of Cajun country in Big Mamou, Louisiana although as a young man was more interested in the music of Gene Autry than he was of the Cajun vernacular.This would later change however and he more and more would integrate Cajun into his Country repertoire.
Newman continues to tour to this day at the grand old age of 85 as well as regularly appearing at The Grand Ole Oprey. He lives with his his wife on their 670-acre ranch just outside of Nashville in Murfreesboro.
