Bonanza & Son ’Song Of The Day’...

Bonanza & Son ’Song Of The Day’...

’You’re Still On My Mind’-Jeff Daniels

Jeff Daniels was actually born Luke McDaniel and had an interesting career recording varying versions of Country Music including Rockabilly, Western Swing and Hillbilly Boogie as well as opening for none other than Hank Williams in the late ’40’s. He counted as his friends Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins and was signed to Sun Records for a short time although he never scored a hit under either name.

'You’re Still On My Mind' was the b-side of his 1959 single ‘Switchblade Sam’… It’s a common misconception that this song was written by Gram Parsons as the song was only brought to prominence when The Byrds recorded it on their ‘Sweetheart Of The Rodeo’ LP nine years later in 1968.
